One of Mamma’s readers (thanks Claire!) passed on this app to review after seeing this promoted heavily on Facebook recently.

Always happy to oblige I thought I would have a look.

PlayKids is a premium TV show subscription service. Pretty comprehensive with suite of TV shows that you can easily download and play for hours. It includes favourites such as The Wiggles, Bananas in Pajamas, Bob the Builder (basically it is 10 episodes for 25 TV shows quite a lot really). It also has a area where there are some basic games and 4 read-a-long books you can download too. All in all a serious app fest for our little ones.

I thought I would try it out on the little miss in our household but she isn’t really at an age yet to sit down for a decent stretch so think this is a great entertainer/ time waster/ babysitter when they are little older. I’m thinking 2 years +

The catch is with all this great content comes a fee and this app is set up as a subscription service. You can go on a trial it for free for 7 days and then from there decide if you want to sign up for $9.99 per month, $26.99 per 3 months or $99.99 per year renewing automatically.

NOTE OF CAUTION: if you are not sure about signing up make sure you untick the subscribe automatically button!!

In addition, when I downloaded this app it killed the storage on my iPAD (granted I was almost running out) but it does take a lot of storage and apart from my e-mail and photos it is the largest single app that is now stored on my iPAD.
